Chris from Colorado made Nixplay his family’s internal social network

My name's Chris, and I live in Loveland, Colorado. I really like it here just because of all the activities we can do outside. Going to the park or going on a hike.

We have family members in Ohio, Minnesota, Utah, Arizona. Since our family is so big, you kind of almost lose touch if you're not on social media or not visiting on Christmas. So how we found Nixplay was we were trying to research the best way to get photos to all our family members and it's just challenging to try to find something other than Facebook or Instagram and settled on Nixplay because of the cloud function where we could send it straight from our phone.

Chris's mum, Kimberley was thrilled with her Nixplay frame. "My son surprised me with a Nixplay frame as a gift. When you walk into the room it lights up. You're seeing photos of family and the grandchildren, and it is delightful!"

Since they don't see them daily, anytime we can get some photos for any event, even if it's just walking around the block, we get those photos uploaded from our phone. It takes just a couple of seconds.

One of the big features and the selling point was the granular control of the playlists and the groups that you can set up with friends, because we do have a big family. You feel like It's an active part of your life. Whenever the grandkids come over, they'll point out their cousins. They'll point out themselves. And it's really nice because it connects them to their cousins and they remember them. Even though it might be a year, they can recall who they are. So it's huge.
It helps me recognize who people are, especially when you have 14 brothers and sisters. I'm like, I need a chart so I can remember who belongs to who and who goes where. For people that can't get out as much, just how much they treasure. Knowing that they maybe can't travel anymore, but they are kind of traveling because they're seeing these pictures that are taking place. It's just a real gift for them. You really can share everything and not have to worry about that. It's like out on the internet for everybody. It's kind of like your own family's internal social network. Oh, my favorite!

NOTE: Nixplay has renamed it's ‘playlists’ functionality to ‘albums’ since this article was first published
